A taste of Ignatian Spirituality. 2. Discernment
October 11, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Trying to make sense of the contradictory thoughts and feelings within us.
It is not only for big decisions that we need to be clear about what we really want. We sometimes find ourselves in private storms of emotions and thoughts which dialogue with or fight each other. How can St Ignatius help us to begin to sort all this out to find peace and move forward ?
with Sr Marie-Christine
Arrive from 10am for a 10.30am start, end 1pm.
Suggested donation £15-£25 per session, £30-£60 if you book for the three sessions.
This morning is part of a series of three Wednesday mornings.
« It is not so much knowledge that fills and satisfies the soul, but the intimate understanding and relish of the truth. » (St Ignatius in the Spiritual Exercisess SE 2)
We continue to explore some elements of the Spirituality that St Ignatius bequeathed us on three Wednesday mornings. These elements are simple, practical suggestions that can help us to live our life in a deeper relationship with God.
In addition to extracts of the Spiritual Exercises, we will use a psalm and a poem for each session. There will be some input, an opportunity to share, time for personal reflection and prayer in the beautiful spaces of St Andrew’s : chapel, grounds, meeting rooms. Come along and discover St Ignatius for the first time or come and deepen your understanding.
